Capture Record

Rowley has been rescuing injured birds on Bribie Island, full time, for more than 20 years. His service focuses on catching ‘flight capable’ birds. These are birds that despite being injured are still able to take to the air and fly away if approached.

‘Flighted’ birds are the hardest of the hard to catch. Very often the injury will be an embedded fish hook, or an entanglement in fishing line, cotton string, human/lake hair, usually wrapped tightly around feet or toes.

Bribie Bird Rescue averages 500 rescues per year and is able to treat and consistently get a very high number of those birds back into the air.

Capture Reports

Each report contains pictures and inspiring stories about birds that were saved during that month, plus any special activities of the rescue service.
